Hello! I'm Jaine and I live with Simon in a small market town called Whaley Bridge on the edge of the Peak District in England.
I've been drawing and making things since I was little and family & friends love receiving a present or card from me as they are always handmade!
I doodle whenever there's a pen and paper handy and I'm extremely
lucky because I love my ‘day job’ which is drawing buildings.
In 1986 I made some peeps out of polymer clay for chums when I was leaving work for pastures new - a mermaid for Sarah who swam with me every lunchtime, and George & his dragon for Sophie (who was married to George) - from that moment on I was hooked.
A few years passed and I was chatting with friends who were getting married. As it was the second (and final) time for both of them, they decided they didn't want any presents but we wanted to give them something special so I asked if I could ‘sculpt them’. After a few whispered questions to Jill about her dress & flowers, and a quick sketch of Colin in his hat, I spent several evenings giggling as I transformed some clay into the happy couple. On the big day, my peeps had pride of place on top of their cake - this was the beginning of Jaine's Peeps!
Now my unique style of sculptures & cards have gone to happy homes all over the world and I am proud to be able to play a small part in so many people’s celebrations.
